The inaugural event was held at the Bruce Museum on 16 Oct 2012 – cocktails followed by a presentation on ‘Indian Masters’ by Proojal Dutta and Harry Hutchison of Aicon Gallery, NYC. We had a gathering of nearly 150 who came from Greenwich, Stamford, Westport, Darien, Rye Brook and Westchester and enjoyed Indian hors d’oeuvres from Tulsi. It was an exciting event and the feedback we received was astounding.
The feedback cards provided showed the top three programs of interest – art and fashion, culinary classes and lectures/discussion on Indian history and politics. Hindi classes and dance classes were in popular demand amongst parents of young kids.
We have had several individuals step up to take responsibility to take ownership of these programs. The community has been catalyzed to action. We look forward to bringing a variety of new programs in the near future.
