Teaching Opportunities

India Cultural Center of Greenwich seeks teachers for their children’s weekend classes. Classes meet Sunday mornings 9:30 – 11:30 AM at the Greenwich Civic Center and are offered to children aged 4 – 12. These are part-time paid positions that require 2-3 active teaching hours/week along with curriculum development and class preparation prior to classes.

Classes are offered year-round and are in-sync with local school calendars (no classes during school breaks, holidays, etc.). If you are interested in teaching for the winter (Jan-May), summer (Jun-Aug) or fall (Sep-Dec) semesters, please reach out to us.

Internship Opportunities for Young Adults

ICC Greenwich is also seeking young adults to get involved as a volunteer or paid semester intern for our children’s classes. Interns would serve as teaching assistants in our Hindi or All About India classes.

Class Descriptions & Qualifications

All About India Class

The All About India curriculum includes age-appropriate learning about the history, people, geography and culture of India. Instructors should have:

  • Love for art, culture and history
  • Prior Classroom experience (Kindergarten and/or Elementary preferred)
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Degree in Art, History or Education Preferred

Hindi Class

Hindi language classes are taught to children aged 4-12. Instructors should have:

  • Advanced knowledge of spoken and written Hindi
  • Prior Classroom experience (Kindergarten and/or Elementary preferred)
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Degree in Education preferred
